Stupid parliament

Today, rather than spending their time debating issues of actual importance, the UK Parliament decided to allocate three hours of their limited time to debate the subject of whether Donald Trump should be banned from setting foot in the United Kingdom.

Let’s say they decide to ban him.  Does anyone think he actually cares? Does anyone think it’ll actually harm his chances on voting day? Does anyone doubt that if Trump wins the election they’ll fall all over themselves to backpedal such a silly and childish action?

If it happens, Trump’s response will undoubtedly be some variation of, “Who cares. The UK? They’re irrelevant.” With one sanctimonious outburst, the United Kingdom will have lowered itself from “no greater friend” status of the George W. Bush era, to “who cares.” Talk about effective democracy.

Incidentally, as I proofread this post and double-checked some of the info, I learned that this debate isn’t even binding! It’s 100% posturing, pure and simple.

Sanders on open borders

This is interesting. Bernie Sanders talking about the open borders concept, as part of a more lengthy interview. In summary, he’s opposed to it.  A short excerpt:

Ezra Klein
You said being a democratic socialist means a more international view. I think if you take global poverty that seriously, it leads you to conclusions that in the US are considered out of political bounds. Things like sharply raising the level of immigration we permit, even up to a level of open borders. About sharply increasing …

Bernie Sanders
Open borders? No, that’s a Koch brothers proposal.

Ezra Klein
Really?

Bernie Sanders
Of course. That’s a right-wing proposal, which says essentially there is no United States.

Ezra Klein
But it would make …

Bernie Sanders
Excuse me …

Ezra Klein
It would make a lot of global poor richer, wouldn’t it?

Bernie Sanders
It would make everybody in America poorer —you’re doing away with the concept of a nation state, and I don’t think there’s any country in the world that believes in that. If you believe in a nation state or in a country called the United States or UK or Denmark or any other country, you have an obligation in my view to do everything we can to help poor people. What right-wing people in this country would love is an open-border policy. Bring in all kinds of people, work for $2 or $3 an hour, that would be great for them. I don’t believe in that. I think we have to raise wages in this country, I think we have to do everything we can to create millions of jobs.

There’s more on the subject, I recommend clicking the link above to see what Sanders has to say.  In particular, the interviewer goes on to badger Sanders some more about how open borders would really be the best option for world peace, fuzzy little bunnies and pink unicorns, but Bernie isn’t having it. Good for him.

I’m especially intrigued by Sanders positing a connection between open borders and the Koch brothers.  I’d actually be able to use that, if this issue ever came up in discussion with my liberal relatives.  They tend to be pretty moonbatty, but, as with a lot of liberals, one of their sure-fire trigger words is “Koch brothers.”  I wouldn’t even need to assert a Koch brothers connection as true, I’d only have to say, “Bernie Sanders thinks open borders is a plot funded by the Koch brothers to drive down wages,” and viola, meme planted.

I’m not planning on voting for Sanders, but he’d be a better choice than Hillery Clinton, globalist plutocrat stooge that she is.

The choice in the upcoming primaries is clear: If you’re a die hard liberal or socialist of some kind, vote for Sanders, and get all your friends to vote for Sanders. The rest of us don’t lean socialist, so our obvious choice is Trump, except for the few who have some vested interest in keeping legal Americans unemployed.  For them, I might have a suggestion or two relating to flying leaps that might be taken, or lakes which might be jumped into.

A Trump vs. Sanders matchup in the general election….that would be mighty interesting.

Leftist French doctor calls for rape of white French women

All in the name of social justice, I suppose:

Rape “right-wing” females to create “multicolored descendants”, says French Doctor

In the blog section of French media outlet, Nouve L’obs, a doctor wrote that any woman who votes for Front National (French anti-mass immigration party) has a “reptilian brain” and should be raped and impregnated to produce “multicolored descendants.”

I’m at a loss for how to respond to that.

The article goes on to mention that the website deleted the doctor’s post.  However, the full text of his original diatribe has been preserved at the link.  In English.

I also recommend Anonymous Conservative’s quite interesting remarks on the subject.

Trump to conquer England, assume monarchy

Just for laughs, I have to post this.

Petitioning Donald Trump: The USA To Conquer England

Given that:

1) The UK has been overrun with Muslim invaders
2) The English have lost the gene to defend their people
3) The English have an Orwellian Police State

We hereby request that our glorious leader, President Trump, do the following:

1) Invade and conquer England
2) Establish the House of Trump as the new Monarchy
3) Remove Muslims from the land
4) Require Americans to mate with English to remove the cuck gene

RAMZPAUL Ramsey started this petition with a single signature, and now has 1,044 supporters.

What a hoot!

It’s a deer, dammit

These states ratified same-sex marriage of their own free will:

Delaware
Hawaii
Illinois
Maine
Maryland
Minnesota
New Hampshire
New York
Rhode Island
Vermont
Washington

The following states did not. In these, same-sex marriage was either illegal (up until Saturday’s Obergefell v. Hodges ruling), or had been forcibly legalized by judicial edict:

Alabama
Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Connecticut
Florida
Idaho
Indiana
Iowa
Kansas
Massachusetts
Mississippi
Missouri
Montana
Nebraska
Nevada
New Jersey
New Mexico
North Carolina
Oklahoma
Oregon
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
South Dakota
Texas
Utah
Virginia
West Virginia
Wisconsin
Wyoming

Two of these states, California and Connecticut, later went on to “legalize” it after being forced to by judges. Make of that what you will.

Marriage in this country was pretty much a joke already, so in practical terms I doubt I care very much about this ruling. But I do care very much about the omnipresent tendency of judges to steamroll the republican process.

Meanwhile, a Republican Congress has granted fast-track authority to the President on trade agreements. This means ratification of the Trans-Pacific Partnership is all but assured, and that means, pretty much, that the United States of America is no longer a sovereign nation. At least, not for now. I admit to still holding out some hope that The People of this once-great land will make their voices heard in a way which the plutocrats simply can’t ignore. But that’s going to be mighty hard if so many of the people insist on looking at the deer and saying, “My, what a lovely horse that is!”
